New Shows... and Recording!

Woo. What a busy time it's been! This month I went into the recording studio with my band - and recorded 9 new tracks for my new EP.... to be called "Yesterday's Blues". Looking at having it all ready for release next February! Which will be here in the blink of an eye no doubt!!

Noosa Jazz Festival ! First weekend in September 2011

HI all!

Very excited to be part of the Noosa Jazz festival this year!

Valley Jazz Festival 2011

Very excited to announce that I have been selected as one of four finalists in this year's 612 ABC Valley Jazz festival Vocal Award!! WWoooo!

This time with the fabulous Steve Case - alt Country/folk Songwriter.

I'll be doing some backing vocals for Steve and also doing some of my originals at the piano.

There's no cover charge and I'll make sure I bake some yummy short bread for you my lovely audience!

Thanks for visiting my site and Thanks for listening to my music!

Through this blog I plan to keep you informed about my latest concerts, recordings and general meanderings.

Big Thanks to Erica for setting up this website and blog!

It's been a year now since the launch of my debut EP This Way. But it feels like it's been out for so much longer! I have been performing just about every week since the EP launch - sometimes solo, sometimes with the full band, sometimes with just a couple of musician friends to keep me company (it gets a bit lonely doing the shows by myself!).

Inspire Gallery and Bar in West End provided me with a monthly music home for the first 6 months of 2010, and that was a great pleasure! Recently Red Fest - formerly Cleveland's Strawberry Festival, provided me with two shows over the weekend of 4th of September. I did two completely different shows - Saturday night with Steve Tyson and David Parnell - two rock players who happily lent themselves to the jazz/singer songwriter genre for the night, and then Sunday with Shane Calderbank - a wonderful piano player from Brisbane - I sang some of my favorite Jazz songs, to a relaxed crowd in the Jazz and Wine pavilion. It was a really wonderful weekend!

What's next? Well.... Into the recording studio to record my song "Trouble". We've had a string part written for it, so that will be something totally new!

Then I'm off to Japan! I am the new vocalist for the Brisbane Jazz Band "Blue Magic Jazz" (check them out here: www.bluemagicjazz.com ).
We are going for two weeks and playing a variety of shows throughout the Country, starting off in Kobe. It's going to be pretty crazy - I've never been there before, and I have no idea what to expect. I even have to learn a song or two in Japanese!

I've also recently launched a Website for my own Jazz group Elegance Jazz - I absolutely love to perform at weddings and special functions and I love to sing Jazz - so I set up Elegance Jazz to cater for those who are seeking some lovely Jazz music for their events.

Ok, well I think that's enough for now. Stay tuned for some special video footage of performances, and the release of "Trouble".
